What are some reasons a gas dryer would stop heating?

A gas dryer stops heating when the air flow is restricted or the thermal fuse is bad. A defective ignitor or bad gas coil valves may also cause a gas dryer to stop heating.
Restricted air flow can cause the temperature in the heating chamber to rise high enough to damage the thermal fuse. Disconnect the fuse, and check continuity with an ohmmeter. If the reading is not zero, replace the thermal fuse. If the ignitor glows but doesn't light the gas, check continuity, and replace if necessary. If the ignitor glows but no gas enters the heating chamber, check continuity on the gas coil valves, and replace if necessary.
