There is no recommended daily dose of krill oil, according to WebMD. Krill oil has not been studied enough for experts to recommend how much should be taken.
The benefits of krill oil are anecdotal as of 2015, but some people take 1 to 1.5 grams a day of a certain type of krill to lower levels of LDL cholesterol and raise levels of HDL cholesterol, states WebMD. Higher doses of this krill oil also have a good effect on triglyceride levels.
Other people use krill oil to ease the pain of osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis and the discomforts of premenstrual syndrome, says WebMD. People also take krill oil to treat hypertension, cancer, depression and stroke.
