By Forinfos - 17/07/2025 - 0 comments
As of 2015, the record price paid for a Stradivarius violin was $16 million. The violin was once owned by Lady Anne Blunt, the granddaughter of the famous English poet Lord Byron, and was sold at a charity auction in 2011.
The record $16 million price of the Stradivarius violin was four times as much as the previous record price paid. The instrument was donated by the Nippon Music Foundation, and the winning bidder was anonymous. The proceeds of the auction went toward disaster relief funds to aid Japan after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The violin was previously sold in 1971 for 84,000 British pounds.
