How do you reduce road noise from a tire?

Reduce road noise from your tires by first determining whether the noise is coming in past the door seals or through the wheel well liner. Then block the path of the noise with rubber weather stripping on the doors or rubber undercoat at the wheel wells.
- Determine the path of noise
Listen to the sound, and decide whether it is traveling through the door seals or the wheel well liner.
- Seal the doors
Install a second door seal. The door seals may also be replaced, though a second seal provides a thicker barrier.
- Seal the wheel wells
Brush on a heavy rubber undercoat. Follow the manufacturer's directions and remember that it is best to first remove the current coat.
