What is the relationship between Brian Anderson and the Tampa Bay Rays?

Brian Anderson is currently a broadcaster who provides television color commentary alongside Dewayne Staats for Tampa Bay Rays games on Sun Sports. He was a former pitcher who was signed by the Rays but never played for them, as he was injured badly in spring training.

As of 2014, Anderson is in his third season as a full-time analyst and his fifth season as part of the Rays' broadcast team. He has co-hosted the Rays Live pregame show with Todd Kalas.

Anderson spent 13 seasons in the majors playing for the California Angels, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals. He won the 2001 World Championship with the Diamondbacks.
