How do you remove sweat stains?

There are several ways to remove sweat stains and these methods involve the use of cleaning agents, such as white vinegar, ammonia, lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, borax, baking soda, aspirin and meat tenderizer. These unconventional cleaning agents are ideal for people who are on a budget. On the other hand, they may also complement the effectiveness of commercially available stain-removing products.

There are a number of different cleaning agents to remove sweat stains to make from home.

White vinegar

1. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of water.
2. Use the solution to try to rub off the stain.
3. Let the solution sit on the stain for about 30 minutes before throwing the piece of clothing in the washing machine.
4. Alternatively, mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 cup of baking soda and soak the stained clothing in the solution overnight before washing.

Ammonia

1. Mix 4 cups of water with a 1/2 cup of ammonia.
2. Use the solution to try to blot out the stain on the clothing until all of it is removed.
3. Wash and rinse.

Lemon juice

1. Mix one part lemon juice, one part water and some salt.
2. Use the solution to try to scrub off the stain until all of it is gone.
3. Wash and rinse.

Hydrogen peroxide

1. Mix a 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution with water.
2. Soak the stained clothing in the solution for 20 to 30 minutes.
3. Wash and rinse.
