In order to remove water stains from wood, users can try to iron the moisture out of the wood. This works best if the stains are only a few days old.
To remove the water stains, users will need a fabric iron and a cotton cloth.
- Prep the iron
- Iron the spot
- Repeat
Empty all of the water from the iron, plug it in and turn it on low.
Lay the cloth on the spot and iron the fabric for a few seconds.
Repeat ironing the fabric for a few seconds at a time until the stain is gone.
Users can also use a mayonnaise method to try and remove the stain.
- Apply mayonnaise
- Let the mayo sit
- Remove the residue
Dip a soft cloth into the mayo and rub it into the spot that is stained until it is thoroughly covered.
Allow the mayo to sit for several hours, even overnight, if possible. If the first coating dries out, reapply it as needed to ensure the spot is saturated.
After letting the mayo sit for a good length of time, remove the excess with a clean cloth. If mayo is not available, petroleum jelly can be used instead.
