How do you replace your keyless remote?

Many modern car keys and remote opening systems require owners to contact the vehicle's manufacturer to obtain a new key or remote. However, it is possible to obtain or install third-party keys, remotes or ignition systems for some vehicles.

Many modern cars use manufacturer-specific coding and security systems in their keys and remotes. The key or remote itself is often not available except from the manufacturer, and it is not normally possible to encode keys or remotes without manufacturer assistance. Some companies sell original blank keys or remotes programmable without contacting the vehicle manufacturers, but this is not always an option for all vehicles.
