A handicapped hotel room can be requested either when making a reservation or during the check-in process at the hotel’s front desk. If a room is available, it is assigned during this time.

While available hotel features may vary somewhat, each hotel must list their handicap-accessible features to ensure disabled visitors are in a place that is suitable for them. When a hotel lists specific features, the accessible rooms are required to have them. Some of these features may include accessibility equipment for the deaf, grab bars at the tub and toilet, roll-in shower, wider traveling spaces and handicap parking spaces.
