Are you required to get a medical card for a CDL in Florida?

Medical cards are required for two types of CDL licenses in Florida. Cards are required for category A, non-excepted interstate, and category C, non-excepted intrastate commerce categories.
Holders of CDL licenses in categories A and C must keep their medical cards current, otherwise their licenses may be downgraded to noncommercial status. Information must be on file with the Florida State Driver License Agency. Failure to have current medical information on file can result in disqualification of a CDL license. The CDL holder is required to obtain a medical card when changing to category A or C from other commerce categories.
