How do you reset a password on an HTC Droid?

Reset the password on a HTC Droid by performing a factory reset, also known as a hard reset, using the hardware button. A hard reset restores the phone to factory settings and erases any information or settings that were placed on the phone.
- Back up data and files
Because a factory reset wipes the HTC Droid clean, upload your data and files to a cloud based storage system.
- Remove the battery from the phone completely
Remove the battery cover, and take the battery out of the phone. Wait at least 10 seconds, and then replace the battery in its casing.
- Press the buttons for the reset
Press and hold the volume down button, which is located on the side of the phone. Simultaneously, press and hold the power button, which is located at the top of the phone.
- Release the buttons
Continue holding the volume and power buttons until three Android images to appear. When these symbols appear, release the buttons immediately.
- Select factory reset with the volume down button
After the Android images appear, look for the option to select factory reset on the screen. Use the volume down button to select that option, and then press the power button.
