Who is responsible for global warming?

According to the Environmental Defense Fund, humans are 95 percent responsible for global warming. The effects of global warming are caused primarily from the burning of fossil fuels and the deforestation of the world’s rainforests.

The nations that have contributed the most to this phenomenon include the United States and China. As far as on a per person basis, the residence of the United Kingdom are the most responsible, with the United States in second and Germany being a close third. When fossil fuels are extracted and burned, this causes a release of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases absorb heat, which makes the planet hotter.
