Are retirement apartments just for seniors?
By Forinfos - 20/01/2026 - 0 comments
Not all retirement communities are restricted to senior citizens. Different types of retirement communities exist, including age-restricted communities, which are the only type of retirement community that requires residents to meet a certain age requirement in order to live there.
Independent living communities are often incorrectly referred to as retirement communities. Although most residents are senior citizens, many of these communities do not have an age requirement and allow anyone to rent an apartment. There are also facilities known as continuing care retirement communities. These may take younger residents who need the level of continuing care provided by the facility.
