According to Ripoff Report reviews, Sun Chlorella USA is a scam based on the membership prices it offers its clients. The Gold Club autoship program offers a price of $118.13 for a three month supply to loyal customers. However, as of 2013, the reviews claim that the company has been selling the three months for $99.

Sun Chlorella USA also allegedly offers an $89 price to members who call to cancel their memberships, but that is the only way they offer this lower price. The Ripoff Report further says that the company carefully omits any mention of promises of what the product can do. The company supposedly publishes a newsletter of testimonials, but the testimonials turned out to be written by its employees.

Sun Chlorella USA makes green algae tablets designed to be used as a health food supplement. The idea of the algae as a supplement first took root in Japan, where the benefits have been studied closely. The tablets contain vitamin C, beta carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, chlorophyll, niacin, folic acid, vitamin B12, omega fatty acids and chlorella growth factor. The tablets are supposed to boost the body's absorption of vitamins and minerals when taken with every meal. Chlorella also has about 38 times more protein than soy beans.
