A person can get rid of a passion mark by using a cold compress. Take the compress, or wrapped ice, and rub it around the hickey. The spot should be rubbed for 20 minutes several times per day to reduce the blood flow.

Hot water also works to reduce passion marks. Take a warm washcloth or a hot water bottle and place it on the spot for 15 to 20 minutes several times per day.

You can also brush the passion mark with a soft bristled toothbrush. Brush the spot for several minutes and then hold a cold compress over it.
