To get rid of soap scum, mix white vinegar with warm water in a spray bottle, and spray the solution on the affected surfaces. Apply a baking-soda paste, scrub the soap scum with a stiff bristle brush or sponge, and rinse the area with hot water.
- Make a vinegar and water solution
Dilute 2 cups of white vinegar with 2 cups of warm water in a spray bottle. Shake the bottle vigorously to combine the vinegar and water. Fill another spray bottle with hot water.
- Scrub the soap scum
Spray the affected area with hot water, then spray the vinegar solution over it. Scrub the area using a stiff bristle brush or a sponge. Spray the area again with the vinegar solution, and let the solution soak into it for at least 15 minutes. Combine 1/2 cup of baking soda with enough water to make a paste, then apply the paste to the affected area. Scrub the area using hard, circular motions. Rinse the scrubbed area by spraying it with clean hot water. Use a clean sponge to remove all baking soda residue.
- Dry the affected area
To prevent the appearance of water spots, use a clean washcloth or a towel to dry the scrubbed area immediately after you rinse it.
