RIDGID tools are manufactured by the Ridge Tool Company in Elyria, Ohio, and other plants throughout the world. The company was founded in North Ridgeville, Ohio, in 1923. Its more than 300 types of tools are manufactured in steel gray and red.

RIDGID tools are designed to be able to withstand extreme temperatures, as well as dirt and mud. The company has eight plants that manufacture parts, although not every tool is produced at every plant. The 300 tools manufactured under the RIDGID brand come in more than 1,000 models.
