Where are SAS shoes manufactured?

Workers at plants in San Antonio and Del Rio, Texas, and Acuna, Mexico, manufacture SAS shoes. The company built the San Antonio factory in 1976. Due to increased demand, it opened a second factory in Del Rio in 1985.

Co-founders Terry Armstrong and Lew Hayden envisioned leather shoes specifically with comfort and softness in mind. Each handcrafted pair of shoes goes through 14 steps during the manufacturing process, starting with the design and finishing with an inspection. Styles that require specific operations, such as hand sewing and stitching, take place in the Acuna factory. SAS shoes is family owned and operated, as of 2015.
