What rights do consumers have when buying a used car?
By Forinfos - 14/02/2026 - 0 comments
Consumers in all states have the right to access a vehicle history report for the used cars they are considering and the right to see the dealer's warranty for the cars. Other consumer rights protected under the law vary from state to state.
As of 2015, seven states have lemon laws that set minimum standards for the sale of used cars and require that used vehicles come with warranties. Some other states require dealers to provide a three-day return policy on all used cars. To learn about rights in a specific state, contact the Consumer Protection Agency for that area.
