What is roach bait gel?

Roach bait gel is a gel-based roach killing treatment that contains dinotefuran, an insecticide that hinders nervous system function in various insects. Roach bait gel is sold commercially and also is used by pest control professionals.
Roach bait gel is applied to common entry points, cracks, nesting areas and corners. Roaches are attracted to the bait and that in turn leads to contact and ingestion. Roaches also carry the gel baits back to their nesting areas, allowing for optimal extermination. Generally, the insecticide begins to take effect within two to four hours. Gel baits are not considered harmful to cats or dogs when used as directed.
