"The Pied Piper of Hamelin" and "My Last Duchess" are two of Robert Browning's most famous poems. Others include "Porphyria's Lover" and "Love in a Life."
Robert Browning lived between 1812 and 1889. He was born in South London and died in Venice, Italy. He was an English poet, considered one of the most important of the Victorian period by scholars. He was married to Elizabeth Barret, who was also a poet.
Other works by Browning include the collections "Pauline: A Fragment of a Confession" and "Paracelsus." Browning's first attempt at a published work, "Pauline," was not well received. However, "Paracelsus", his second attempt, gained much more critical regard.
