As of May 2015, ABC has not yet cancelled the Canadian crime drama "Rookie Blue." In fact, the premier of the show's sixth season will premiere in the United States on June 25, weeks after its premiere in Canada.

The new season of "Rookie Blue" typically premieres later in the United States than in Canada due to complications involving contracts between ABC and the Canadian network Global TV. Tassie Cameron, writer and executive producer for "Rookie Blue," has stated that the future of the show remains up in the air, implying uncertainty whether or not ABC will renew the show for a seventh season. One executive for ABC, however, has indicated that he hopes that "Rookie Blue" continues for a long time.
