Who is Ross from "Macbeth"?

In the play "MacBeth," Ross is a Scottish Thane who turns against Macbeth to side with the English forces. He is a cousin to Macbeth.

The play "Macbeth" is the shortest tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is believed to have been penned during the time of King James I. Its earliest recorded theatrical performance is in 1606 at the famous Globe Theater.

The story revolves around Macbeth, a courageous general in the King's army who is prophesied to rule Scotland based on the divination of three witches. Ross becomes instrumental in fulfilling the first prophecy. As a result, Macbeth kills the King and takes the throne for himself.
