What is a Rune Scimitar?

The rune scimitar is a powerful weapon in the MMORPG game "Runescape." The weapon can either be made by a character with a sufficient skill level or found as rare loot in several areas. As of 2014, it is currently the most powerful nondegrading weapon a free player can obtain.

Players wanting to make the rune scimitar must have two rune bars and a hammer in their inventory. The item is crafted on an anvil and requires a smithing skill of 90. It can also be dropped as rare loot from several high level monsters or be found inside silver chests during the Mort'ton Shade Burning minigame.
