How do you get into running?

According to the Fitness magazine, new runners should start running by first setting up a schedule and focusing on the time spent running and not the miles ran. They should start out slow and walk intermittently to avoid exhaustion.
New runners should start their running routine by running/walking for 20 minutes a day, three days per week. As they get more comfortable and are able to run more than walk, they can increase the amount of time they are running and the time. Even when they walk, they should try to walk as per a schedule. For example, running for three to four minutes, then walking for one minute is a good idea to begin with.
