The two coins used for currency in Russia are the ruble and the kopek. At times, the country has also issued commemorative and bullion coins.
Though the exchange rate is not the same, the Russian ruble coin is roughly equivalent to one American dollar as of 2014, and the kopek is roughly equivalent to one American penny, with 100 of them making up a ruble. Actual exchange rates vary with time but tend to be around 30 rubles to an American dollar and 40 rubles to a Euro as of 2014. Ruble coins are available in denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 10. Kopek coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10 and 50.
