What's common etiquette for tipping hairdressers?
By Forinfos - 17/09/2025 - 0 comments
A tip of 20 to 25 percent is the proper etiquette for tipping hairdressers, according to InStyle and AOL. It is also considered appropriate to tip others in the salon who have interaction with customers during a hairstyle, such as colorists, stylist assistants and shampooers.
Tipping etiquette calls for a tip for a shampooer of between $3 and $5, while the stylist assistant should receive between $5 and $20, depending on the extent of interaction they have during the hairstyle. It is generally acceptable not to tip a hairdresser who is the owner of the salon, although most owners appreciate gratuities when acting in this capacity.
