The U.S. Food and Drug Administration found an unlisted drug, Sibutramine, in both Solo Slim and Solo Slim Extra Strength and ordered the supplement recalled. The FDA stated that the presence of Sibutramine in the supplement may cause a substantial health risk to consumers.
According to FDA, Sibutramine is an FDA-approved drug that, when appropriately prescribed by a doctor, can be used for appetite suppression and weight loss. However, Sibutramine can substantially increase blood pressure and heart rate in some patients. Patients with heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease or arrhythmias, may be at substantial risk of harm if they take Sibutramine.
