What are the safest microwave ovens?

Virtually all brands of microwave leak very little, if any, radiation and are comparable in safety to one another. Unless a microwave is damaged in some fashion, there is little difference in safety between one modern microwave and another model as of 2015.

The Food and Drug Administration requires that microwaves leak no more than 5 milliwatts of microwave radiation over the entire lifetime of the microwave. This level of radiation release is considered far below the level required to harm people significantly. As long as its door seals correctly and the metal screen in its glass is intact, almost any microwave from any manufacturer is similarly safe for use.
