What are scallops made from?

Scallops are primarily mollusks which are eaten as seafood. The two most popular types of scallops are sea and bay scallops. Between the two sea scallops are most sought out and expensive since they aren't as plentiful are their sea scallop counter parts.

Bay scallops are found along the Eastern United States coast, while sea scallops can be found in the golf of Mexico. Sea scallops are less desirable because they aren't as sweet as bay scallops, but they are cheaper and are in greater supply. Either scallop can be eaten raw, as a soup or even as a decoration for pie crust.
