What does the scapula and clavicle form?
By Forinfos - 10/08/2025 - 0 comments
The scapula connects with the clavicle to form the shoulder or pectoral girdle. The shoulder girdle is part of the appendicular skeleton that makes up the arms and legs in human anatomy.
The scapula is the shoulder blade. It rests on one end of the clavicle, also known as the collarbone. The other end of the clavicle connects to the sternum, also known as the breastbone. Together, the scapula and clavicle form the shoulder girdle, which connects the upper arm to the axial or central skeleton. The scapula connects to the bones of the upper arm, and many arm muscles attach at the scapula. The shoulder girdle promotes movement where the arm is attached to the body.
