What is a Schneider skink?
By Forinfos - 27/09/2025 - 0 comments
A Schneider skink is a reptile that measures about 12 to 16 inches long and is found in the deserts of North Africa, Central Asia and West Asia. Considered an exotic pet, skinks are typically brownish in color and feature short snouts and a large divided nose.
As with other reptiles, Schneider skinks require a source of heat and UVB light in order to survive. They also thrive in environments that have little humidity, and they naturally like to burrow and climb through their surroundings. Although their diet consists mainly of insects, they are considered omnivorous and can eat dark leaves and sometimes fruit. They are named in honor of the German zoologist Johann Schneider.
