How long is Schneider driver training?

Schneider driver training lasts three weeks for recent driving school graduates and new Commercial Driver's License holders. Experienced van driver orientation takes about two-and-a-half days, and training takes about two weeks for experienced tanker drivers. Schneider pays all drivers about $80 per day when they attend the orientation sessions.

The first week of new driver orientation begins at a Schneider training facility, and combines classroom work, using a tractor simulator and training in a truck. The second week is on-the-road training, when each trainee drives a truck with a training engineer. For the third week, the trainees return to the training facility for soft skills training, trip planning in the classroom, and more in-truck driving. At the end of orientation, each trainee completes a test of his skills.
