As of 2015, scholarships for left-handed students include the Mary Francis Beckley scholarship at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, according to the college. The award is worth about $1,000 to $1,500 annually to each recipient. Sophomores, juniors and seniors who have financial need and good academic records are eligible.
Students can apply for the scholarship in their freshman year, and recipients maintain their awards until they graduate from the liberal arts college, explains Juniata College. The scholarship is only for Juniata students, and they cannot transfer their awards to other institutions. In 1979, the late Mrs. Beckley, a left-handed Juniata graduate, made a $24,000 bequest to the college to create the scholarship.
