What is a trailing lantana?

A trailing lantana is a low-maintenance flower native to tropical America. Its small flowers, which are pink, purple, yellow, white or red, grow in clusters. Mature plants are 6 to 18 inches in height and 4 to 8 feet in width.
Trailing lantana can be grown as a groundcover or shrug. It needs a moderate amount of water and grows best in sand, clay, loam or rocky soil that is well-drained. Neutral or slightly alkaline soil is preferred. Sunlight requirements are flexible. The plants grow in areas with partial sun, but they are also fine in full sun. Blue or black berries that appear on the plant are poisonous.
