What is a Scottish jury called?

A Scottish jury is referred to as a jury, just as in the United States. Trial by jury is used primarily for large criminal cases in Scotland.

Jurors in Scotland are selected from those who are registered to vote; jurors are pulled at random. One difference from juries in the United States is that jurors in Scotland do not need to be unanimous in their decision to reach a verdict. They only need a simple majority for a verdict though they can still have a hung jury in a civil case if the vote remains tied. They cannot have a hung jury in a criminal case.
