What is a Scottish terrier mix?

A Scottish terrier mix is a cross between a Scottish terrier and another breed of dog. As with all hybrid breeds, the characteristics of a Scottish terrier mix are unpredictable due to the wide array of traits it may inherit from its parent breeds.

The Scottish terrier is a small, stout dog with an elongated skull, a pronounced beard and erect, triangular ears. Scottish terriers shed very little, but regular grooming is required to maintain a clean, comfortable coat. Professional trimming is recommended twice a year. Like other terriers, the Scottish terrier is an excellent watchdog. Although described as friendly, dignified and playful, the Scottish terrier is known to be stubborn. Stern, assertive training and socialization is recommended to prevent behavioral issues.
