Scotty Kilmer currently has a YouTube channel under the user name, "Scottykilmer," and in 2004, received an Emmy for Interactive Car Talk Host. Scotty wrote a book in 1994, called "Everyone's Guide to Buying a Used Car."

Writing his book led to him becoming the host of "Crank It Up" on CBS, Houston, which he did for ten years. Scotty started out as a mechanic in his father's Texaco garage when he was just fourteen years old and has been doing it for forty-seven years. Scotty got married and opened his own repair business in 1979 but eventually became restless, leading him to write his book.
