Seagulls live primarily in coastal regions, but are also seen near bodies of fresh water. There is a variety of seagulls, such as the herring gull, the Iceland gull and the common gull, all of which are native to different areas across the world.
Herring gulls inhabit areas both coastal and inland across the United States and migrate to Canada in the summer for breeding. It is common to spot this species in areas where a large lake or other fresh body of water is present. The common gull is native to the United Kingdom and migrates across the region to breed and relocate for the winter. The Iceland gull lives predominantly in arctic coastal regions of Canada, New England and Iceland.
