What is second-chance leasing?
By Forinfos - 30/09/2025 - 0 comments
Second-chance leasing is a program to help those with negative rental history obtain an apartment. Most landlords require a credit check, background check, and rental history before renting an apartment to a tenant. These landlords have certain standards that a person must meet.
Second-chance leasing typically requires extra work from the renter. Many times, the landlord wants to know that a person is resolving past issues or that his or her current financial situation has changed. Usually, a person is required to pay a higher security deposit. While second-chance leasing is typically used to resolve credit-based issues, it can also be used to work around criminal history.
