Seed warts, also known as common warts, are skin growths not caused by cancer, according to WebMD. The warts are caused by a viral skin infection.

Seed warts are typically classified into two categories — planter warts and Palmer warts — according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Palmer warts occur on the hands or face, while planter warts occur on the feet. Warts can be transferred from person to person, and often, they will go away on their own. Some will spread, but they can be removed by doctors. People with poor immune systems are more likely to suffer from these warts.
