What is a seed wart?

Seed warts are a type of common wart that have black dots. They get their name because of their seed-like appearance. These warts are caused by the blood vessels surrounding them, and they generally grow on the backs of hands, fingers and the skin surrounding finger nails, according to Warts.org.
Seed warts are more likely found where the skin is already broken, states the American Academy of Dermatology. They can be treated and removed by freezing them with liquid nitrogen, cutting them out surgically, lasering them off or using topical treatments such as Imiquimod and Bleomycin, Warts.com explains. Freezing them off can leave scars, and surgically removing them has a higher rate for reccurence.
