How do you get self tanner off?

To remove self tanner, make a paste out of lemon juice and baking soda, and use it to scrub your skin. Remove streaks from the hands with a cotton ball soaked in acetone nail polish remover. Moisturize the skin to make any remaining streaks less visible.
- Squeeze the lemons
Cut several lemons in half, depending on how much surface area the tanner is on. Place a strainer over a bowl to catch seeds, and use a citrus juicer to squeeze out the lemon juice.
- Make a baking soda paste
Place baking soda in a bowl, using more for larger surface areas. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and mix. Continue adding lemon juice in 1 tablespoon increments until you have a smooth but thick paste.
- Apply the paste
Scoop out the paste, and rub it onto the areas streaky with self tanner. Scrub lightly to remove the color, and let it sit for a couple minutes.
- Rinse off the paste
Use warm water to rinse off the paste, using a wash cloth to scrub slightly. If the streaks remain, repeat the application process.
- Clean up your hands
Because the baking soda paste is not effective for the skin on your palms, use acetone nail polish remover. Soak a cotton ball in polish remover. Use it to swab away the streaks. Do not scrub as this irritates the skin.
- Moisturize the skin
Dry skin makes streaks more visible, and both removal procedures dry the skin. Slather a generous amount of a moisturizing lotion on your skin directly after removing the self tanner.
