The Voya family of companies includes ReliaStar Life Insurance Company and ReliaStar Life Insurance Company of New York. ReliaStar products include term life, universal life and survivorship life insurance policies.

ReliaStar Life Insurance Company is based in Minnesota, where it was incorporated in 1885. The company is licensed to do business in all 50 states, but only as a reinsurer in New York, notes SelectQuote Life. ReliaStar Life Insurance Company of New York, or RLNY, was incorporated there in 1917, and issues policies in the state. RLNY is headquartered in Woodbury, New York, and is licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
