What is a "senior sitter"?

By Forinfos - 30/11/2025 - 0 comments

Senior sitters work as paid caregivers to the elderly. They provide companionship and assistance with everyday activities, such as running errands, cooking or using the bathroom. Senior sitters focus more on personal care and creating a comfortable living environment than on medical care.

Unlike live-in caregivers, senior sitters generally operate in a temporary capacity similar to a babysitter. They are often hired by concerned family members who are unable to provide around-the-clock care for their elderly relative. Senior sitters aren't restricted to the home care setting and may provide help in hospitals, rehab centers or assisted-living facilities. Typical job duties include light housekeeping, meal planning and medication reminders.
