Where are the serial numbers on Fender guitars located?

Serial numbers are stamped in various locations on Fender guitars, including the neck plate, the front or back of the headstock and the back of the neck near the connection to the guitar body. The neck and the body of the guitar each have their own serial number.

Knowing the serial number of a Fender guitar allows the owner to get a better estimate of how much the guitar is worth because the owner can then figure out the year of production. The production date for a Fender guitar can also be found by removing the neck of the guitar and looking on the butt end of the neck heel. In most cases, the production date is stamped or written there.
