TransUnion Canada and Equifax Canada provide Canadians with one free copy of their consumer disclosure report, which contains all of the same information on their credit reports, explains TransUnion Canada. Canadian law requires the agencies to provide one free copy upon the consumer’s request.
The two credit reporting agencies allow consumers to request the report via mail by providing two pieces of photo identification, according to Canadian Credit Report. Canadians may also visit a provincial consumer office and request a copy of their free report. Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada are the two major credit-reporting agencies in Canada, notes the Industry Canada Office of Consumer Affairs.
