Are Sharp microwaves made in the USA?

Sharp has been manufacturing microwave ovens in the United States since 1979, after becoming the first company in Japan to manufacture them in 1961. Sharp's first U.S.-based factory was the Sharp Manufacturing Company of America in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Memphis location continues to operate and manufacture microwave ovens as of 2015. Sharp Electronics Corporation is a U.S. subsidiary of the Sharp Corporation based in Osaka, Japan. Its U.S. headquarters is located in Mahwah, New Jersey. The company established itself in the U.S. marketplace in 1962. Additional manufacturing facilities are located in Poland, Thailand, France, Osaka and various locations around Europe.
