The Shaw Speedtest is an online tool that is able to determine the Internet connection of a computer by calculating its download and upload speed. The program states that all programs that are active on a computer be closed prior to beginning the test.

The Shaw Speedtest states that other applications running in the computer, such as video programs or torrent clients, typically requires Internet bandwidth.
