How often should you clean a self-cleaning oven?

The regularity with which users should clean their ovens depends on the amount of usage the oven gets. In general, the self-cleaning function should be used once a month for heavy users of the oven and once every two to three months for less frequent users.
Although the self-cleaning function on an oven can perform to a very high standard, it is recommended to keep on top of small spillages and grease marks as they occur. As well as using the self-cleaning function monthly or bi-monthly, users should wipe down the door and the front of the oven on a regular basis.
